Introduction

Shanghai Ocean University is a multi-disciplinary, applied research-based university, jointly established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the State Oceanic Administration, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In September 2017, it was selected by the Ministry of Education for the country's Double First-Class Initiative construction plan for its first-class discipline of fisheries and aquaculture.

Outstanding experts in the fields of marine science and engineering as well as aquaculture engineering are invited to the Shanghai Summer School 2024, which focuses on resource exploration, and utilization of biological resources in the deep sea, distant sea, and polar regions. The summer school aims to share the dreams of the experts and convey their scientific spirit and thinking.

June 6, 2024 - June 26, 2024

Eligibility

· Non-Chinese residents in good health;

· Students, researchers, or industry personnel are interested in marine subjects;

· Candidates from RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) countries or institutions and universities that have partnerships with SHOU will enjoy preferential admission;

· Students must be recommended by institutions or universities.

Please select "Short-term Students" then choose "2024 Shanghai Summer School · RCEP Marine Culture International Program & SHOU Global Summer School";

·Step 3: Fill in the form;

Please fill in your personal information and related education experience online. Remember to click "SAVE" whenever you input any information;

· Step 4: Upload documents

Upload your passport, certificates, or reports in PDF form;

·Step 5: Submit the application

Please submit the application when you complete the form and upload the documents.

Required documents

1. Passport photocopy

A clear copy of your valid passport with name, photo, birth date, place of birth, date of issue, and date of expiry;

2. One-inch electronic personal photo. JPG format;

3. Enrollment letter or employment;

4. Degree certificate and transcripts;

5. Foreigner Physical Examination certificate (Valid within six months)

Applicants can download the form at www.gjxssqxt.cn via the application portal. Applicants should strictly follow the requirements of the

Physical Examination Record for Foreigners

and provide a detailed report of blood examination. Incomplete records, those without the doctor's signature, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid;

6. Non-criminal record

Please submit a valid certificate of non-criminal record issued by the local police office within six months. Please translate it into English or Chinese if it's in other languages;

7. Guardian's commitment (16 to18 years old)

Applicants who are 16 to 18 need to provide a guardian's commitment letter.

Scholarships

· Shanghai Government Scholarship:

SHOU provides the Shanghai Government Scholarship to students who wish to experience this program.

· Scholarship coverage:

Waiver of application fee;

Waiver of tuition fee and accommodation fee

· Scholarship eligibility:

(1) Non-Chinese citizens in good health between 16 to 55 at the time of application. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a certificate of guardianship.

(2) Students from countries within the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership)

(3) Students recommended by institutions or universities that have partnerships with SHOU
