· A field investigation to "China's most famous paradise on earth" (Suzhou in Jiangsu province and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province) to feel the charm of the Jiangnan area — covering the area south of the Yangtze River and the northern part of southern China.

Application information

1. Requirements for applicants:

· Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport; graduated from high school or above; between 18 and 55. Guarantee statement should be submitted if less than 18.

· English proficiency: IELTS (A) 6.0 or TOEFL IBT 80 or above; other internationally recognized English proficiency tests with scores of the same level withproof of certificates; The following types of applicants are exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS: Native speakers of English; The previous degree is taught in English.

Ø ID photo (less than 100 kilobytes)

Ø Language proficiency certificate

Ø Statement of financial support

Ø Highest degree diploma

*Scholarship recipients also need to upload a letter of recommendation given by the embassy or the Confucius Institute at your school.

4. Application procedures:

*Step 1: Apply via https://shu.edu.cn/. Click "Apply Now" and sign up with your email address.

*Step 2: Select the "Non-degree Program"- "Summer School"- 2024 Shanghai University Summer School;

*Step 3: Upload materials and submit application;

*Step 4: Pay application fee online (For scholarship recipients, please choose "Pay application fee when arrive".);

*Step 5: Please confirm your e-admission notice to complete your application.

About Visa

X2 visa (staying no more than 180 days). L visa is not accepted.

About fees

1. Basic package:

* Students must submit payment  of 9,070 yuan ($1260.5) before June 15, 2024 and send your receipt to apply3@oa.shu.edu.cn.

*Accommodation fee will be charged according to the actual costs.

3. Shanghai Summer School Scholarship:

Includes program fee, accommodation fee (double room), and accident insurance for the duration of the trip. The scholarship quota is 20.

*Free accommodation is provided during the program period, 29 nights in total. Self-funded for extra stay.

Detailed information

Dormitory:

The international students' dorm is equipped with air conditioning, network interface, and separate bathroom facilities. There are public kitchens, laundry rooms, and refrigerators in the dorm. Life is very convenient with restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores near the dorm.
