Global public policy international summer school opens for applications
The LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy and Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) will jointly hold the third "Global Public Policy" International Summer School from June 30 to July 27, 2025.
The 2025 curriculum covers five modules:
1. China in the global context
2. Global governance
3. International development and the Global South
4. Global social policy
5. Data analysis and research methods
Eligibility
The summer school primarily targets undergraduate students from domestic and international universities. A limited number of graduate students and young scholars from universities and research institutions, as well as professionals from public, nonprofit and for-profit sectors, can also be admitted. For high school students or recent graduates with a strong interest in the project, please feel free to inquire about the program via email before applying.
Chinese and foreign students of any nationality are welcome. Applicants should have strong English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills (proof of English proficiency is required).
Application materials
- Valid form of identity (passport information page; Chinese students can provide their ID card)
- Recent, color, passport-sized photo without headwear
- Personal resume (in Chinese or English)
- Academic transcript; non-students should provide proof of employment
- Proof of English proficiency (such as TOEFL, GRE, IELTS or CET-4/6 scores). This requirement may be waived if the applicant's working or instructional language is English

Chinese students should combine all application materials in the order listed above into a single PDF file and submit it via email to igpp_admission@fudan.edu.cn. Please title the email "Student Name + Global Public Policy Summer School". In the body of the email, please list the courses you are applying for.
Application and admission
Application deadline:
- Courses in Session 1: June 25th, 2025
- Courses in Session 2: July 13th, 2025
Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis. The review committee will consider the applicant's professional background, academic potential and overall ability. Admission results will be sent by email within 10 business days of submission. For international students, the admission notice required for their visa applications will typically be delivered to the address provided within 15 business days. To ensure enough time for your visa application, please apply as early as possible.
Tuition and payment
For each additional course you register for, a discount of 1,000 yuan will be applied.

Students from Fudan University, member universities of the Fudan Nordic Centre, member universities of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) and IGPP's partner institutions (see below for details) are eligible for a 10 percent tuition fee discount, which applies throughout the registration period.
IGPP's partner institutions include London School of Economics and Political Science, American University in Cairo, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil, National Institute of Development Administration in Thailand, National Research University Higher School of Economics in Russia, University of Pennsylvania, South African Institute of International Affairs, University of Hong Kong, and members of the China-Arab Network of Schools of Public Policy and Administration (CANSPPA).
How to pay
Students should complete their payments within 10 business days of receiving the admission email notification. Please save a screenshot of the completed transfer and email it to igpp_admission@fudan.edu.cn to confirm your payment.
Tuition fees should be wired directly to Fudan University's bank account. When making the transfer, please include "Global Public Policy Summer School + Student Name" in the remarks section.

Visa application (for international students)
Preliminary admission results will be sent to accepted international students by email. Subsequently, Fudan University's International Students Office will mail the official admission notice. With this and the JW202 form downloaded from https://www.studyinchina.edu.cn, students can apply for an X2 visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country. Scholarship
In 2025, 20 scholarships offered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) will be available to international students. The scholarship covers free on-campus accommodation, a monthly living allowance of 3,000 yuan, and a monthly tuition subsidy of 2,000 yuan. For students enrolling in just one session, which spans 14 days, the scholarship amount will be reduced by half. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Insurance
To ensure the safety of international students during their stay in China, the Chinese Ministry of Education requires the purchase of International Student Insurance. Students who have already obtained similar coverage are exempt from purchasing it again.
