The stage is set for a cutting-edge event in the world of robotics, as the 2025 China Humanoid Robot Ecology Conference is scheduled to take place on April 25-26 at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center in Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai.

This conference will gather the brightest minds and leading companies in humanoid robotics and future technologies. Attendees can look forward to a main forum and several sub-forums that will delve into product development, market expansion, investment strategies, industry-academia collaboration, standard setting, battery technology, and diverse application scenarios.

Running parallel to the conference will be the Intelligent Robots and Future Technology Exhibition, with a sprawling area of 10,000 square meters and around 100 exhibitors. Industry giants such as Unitree Robotics, Leju Robot and MagicLab will showcase their latest innovations.

Unitree Robotics gained widespread attention when its G1 humanoid robots performed a Chinese folk dance at this year's Spring Festival Gala. In addition to G1, the company will also present H1, the world's first electrically driven humanoid robot capable of performing a standing backflip, and the quadruped robot B2, designed for power inspections and fire rescue, at the exhibition.

The most anticipated parts of the event will be the Robot Boxing Championship and the Humanoid Robot Soccer Exhibition Match. "In the four-by-four-meter boxing ring, robot fighters will showcase more than just their fists. We will witness breakthroughs in multi-modal fusion algorithms, motion control, vision, and perception technologies," said Zhao Yong, founder of China Robot Network.

The 2024 White Paper on Humanoid Robots in China indicates significant market potential. According to a report by the consultancy Gaogong Industry Research Institute, the global humanoid robot market is expected to exceed $2 billion by 2026 and could reach $20 billion by 2030. Considering that China's service robot market accounts for about 25 percent of the global market, the Chinese humanoid robot market is projected to be worth at least $5 billion by 2030.

"Humanoid robots 'interning' in factories is a positive signal, but we still need a process of integration," said Zhao. "For Jiading district, this represents a significant opportunity for accelerated development."

Jiading is uniquely suited to the development of the robot industry due to its abundant application scenarios and a robust manufacturing base essential for "embodied intelligence". Zhao believes that Jiading should focus on creating a series of typical "robot+" application scenarios, such as gradually replacing "dangerous, repetitive, and dirty" heavy labor positions with robots in the industrial sector.
