Shanghai's Putuo district has rolled out cross-regional online administrative services dedicated to people from cities in the industrial innovation belt along the Shanghai-Nanjing corridor.

The move has paved the way for businesses and individuals in Putuo, as well as those in the cities of Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Zhenjiang and Taizhou, to conduct cross-regional affairs with minimal physical presence or even entirely remotely.

Using technologies such as remote identity verification, audio-video interactions, and screen sharing, individuals can enjoy remote filing, consultation, and assistance akin to in-person interactions at physical service windows.

By designating personnel for collaborative authorization, remote video conferencing for document submission, and point-to-point video verification mechanisms, the online services ensure every step of the process is meticulously documented and efficiently coordinated.

In recent years, Putuo has consistently prioritized "online one-stop services" to develop a digital government and improve the business environment. By deepening regional collaboration and realizing "cross-regional services", the district has made significant strides in streamlining administrative review and approval processes and fostering a more business-friendly ecosystem.

Jiang An, a staff member at the Urban Operations Center of Putuo district, said that to date, the district has inked cross-regional cooperation agreements on administrative services with 33 cities across three provinces in the Yangtze River Delta region and 68 cities in 14 provinces nationwide.

"This year, we aim to further expand cooperation with more regions to assist enterprises in better understanding and using policies in various regions and ensure they can promptly benefit from policy dividends," Jiang said.
