The Shanghai-born Zhou Guanyu, China's first-ever Formula 1 driver, will return to the city to race in the Chinese Grand Prix from April 19 to 21, 20 years after he first watched the F1 race in his hometown.

The event has been absent in Shanghai for four years and will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit. An Auto Culture Festival will also launch in Jiading district from April 19 to May 31, celebrating the return of the event.

"What I've wanted most is to compete in the F1 at home. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," said Zhou.
