Japan and China have the potential to harness their respective strengths through a macro-micro partnership, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence and robotics, to achieve mutual benefits and success, said former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama on April 25 in Shanghai.

Hatoyama, in an exclusive interview with International Services Shanghai during the Shanghai Forum 2025, emphasized that Japan's expertise in precision and basic materials, combined with China's strong organizational capabilities and impressive industrial progress in recent years, presents a significant opportunity for collaboration that could lead to win-win outcomes.
