Metro AG, a German multinational in the retail and wholesale industry, is preparing to make a remarkable appearance at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai in November.

The company, set to attend the event for eight straight years, will once again present a wide range of new products. It has consistently participated as an exhibitor, buyer, and product provider, demonstrating its continued confidence in the future growth of the Chinese economy.

Since opening its first store in Shanghai in 1996 and establishing its headquarters in Shanghai's Putuo district, Metro AG has expanded its footprint to over 60 cities in China, with nearly 100 stores serving more than 20 million households and close to 130,000 corporate members.

Throughout its almost three decades of active presence in the Chinese market, the company has witnessed many key moments in China, acting as the official food provider for major domestic events.

At this year's CIIE, the company will highlight its global supply chain as a core aspect, focusing on quality, sustainability, and cultural appeal. At the expo, it plans to present 130 products from 21 countries, including 44 items of its own label.

Notably, a "sustainability zone" will be featured at its booth, displaying its self-developed traceability-certified products, Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified items, and eco-friendly packaging solutions, all emphasizing its commitment to sustainable development.
