As the 8th China International Import Expo is scheduled for Nov 5-10, merchants arriving through the Shanghai Pudong International Airport can ensure a smooth entry by following this comprehensive immigration clearance guide. Don't miss these crucial tips to streamline your arrival and make the most of your CIIE experience.

Scenario 1: If you hold a valid Chinese visa or are from a visa-free country

Step 1: Fingerprint self-collection

Fingerprint self-collection areas for foreign inbound travelers are located in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Please complete fingerprint collection at the following designated areas:

Step 2: Arrival Card

Near the fingerprint self-collection areas, Arrival Card filling desks have been set up. These desks are equipped with sample copies of the Arrival Card in seven languages for reference.

Step 3: Special channels dedicated to CIIE

A total of 12 special channels dedicated to CIIE have been opened, which are staffed around the clock to provide convenience.

Exhibitors and merchants can go through immigration inspection via the special channels dedicated to CIIE with their valid passports or other international travel documents, CIIE participation certificates, invitation letters and other materials. This will significantly reduce waiting time and ensure quality immigration services.

Scenario 2: If you need to apply for the 240-hour visa-free transit policy

Citizens from 55 countries, holding valid international travel documents and confirmed connecting tickets (with fixed dates and seats) to a third country (region) within 240 hours, can enter China visa-free through any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces directly.

Step 3: Apply for a temporary entry permit and go through immigration inspection

Foreign travelers who meet the requirements can apply for a temporary entry permit and complete immigration inspection through all foreigner inspection channels with their valid international travel documents, connecting tickets and Arrival Cards for Temporary Entry Foreigners.
