CIIE Shanghai Events and Conferences to gather global participants
The 2026 CIIE Shanghai Events and Conferences, an extension of the ninth China International Import Expo and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, will be held from Nov 6 to 9.
The event covers six major themes: China's opening-up and Shanghai's practices, corporate internationalization and comprehensive overseas services, trade innovation, green and sustainable development, new consumption potential, and artificial intelligence and growth paradigms.
The meetings seek to translate intellectual exchange into tangible trade and economic cooperation outcomes and to ensure the expo's benefits reach beyond the show floor.
Sessions will focus on hot topics, including WTO reform, emerging trends in Chinese corporate globalization, and AI-empowered overseas development, and will feature diverse formats such as book talks, closed-door think tank dialogues, and young scholar exchanges.
The mix balances open exchange of views with small, closed-door discussions, pairing established figures with emerging young voices to make interactions more professional and diverse.
The events will be more closely linked with the main CIIE activities by organizing country-specific industry matchmaking sessions and inviting corporate delegations to roundtable discussions, encouraging domestic buyers and overseas exhibitors to move beyond transactions and product displays toward deeper exchanges of ideas and resources.
A cross-border data compliance platform and a digital credit insurance section of the China (Shanghai) International Trade Single Window will go live during the meetings, and the events will facilitate the signing of agreements for several cooperation projects.
The previous two editions of the CIIE Shanghai Events and Conferences attracted nearly 17,000 participants and generated more than 160 outcomes. Registration is now open. Scan the QR code below to register through the official mini program.
