Shanghai's parks will host a range of Spring Festival activities themed around the Year of the Horse, featuring flower exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and art performances.

Several parks are preparing floral displays for the occasion. The Shanghai Botanical Garden will link its northern and southern greenhouse complexes to create an immersive garden experience.

Chenshan Botanical Garden will showcase peonies, azaleas, and a range of traditional Chinese New Year flowers, and host Lantern Festival interactive activities. Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park will host a narcissus exhibition and its annual public narcissus carving competition.

The World Flower Garden at the Shanghai World Expo Culture Park is scheduled to open its largest themed flower exhibition on Feb 14, incorporating contemporary art elements.

Other parks, including Xinzhuang Park, Zhenru Park, and Meichuan Park, will focus on plum blossom displays. Taopu Central Park will host an orchid exhibition, combining flower sales with family- and pet-friendly activities, tea sessions, and gardening workshops.

Cultural programs will also be a highlight. Guyi Garden will create an experience inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics through lantern displays and folk performances.

Binjiang Forest Park will host a Spring Festival garden fair with decorative installations, and Fangta Park plans to present dragon and lion dances and local opera performances.

Wildlife-themed activities will further enrich the celebrations. Shanghai Wild Animal Park is to introduce a pair of giant panda cubs to the public. Shanghai Zoo will feature an equine showcase for the holiday, presenting Przewalski's horses, Mongolian wild asses, zebras, and Shetland ponies.
