The 2026 1000 Trees Cherry Blossom Season will take place in Shanghai's Putuo district from March 27 to April 19, bringing a touch of spring romance to the Suzhou Creek waterfront.

Along a 900-meter waterfront cherry blossom corridor, the district's seasonal charm is about to be put on full display. Layered canopies of trees rise on one side as the river flows quietly by on the other. By day, the blossoms drift like soft pink mist above the path. By night, they transform into a luminous floral sea.

The cherry blossom season isn't just about flowers — it's also about the vibrant city life beneath the trees. More than 30 stalls will be lined up along the river, offering everything from creative handicrafts and light snacks to soft drinks and plant displays. The spring market will be held over four weekends, with each weekend featuring a different theme.

Beyond the markets, the season is also a time to highlight traditional Chinese culture. A special event celebrating the timeless elegance of traditional Chinese hanfu attire is set to open on March 28. Visitors will have the chance to experience a curated lineup of cultural experiences, including a hanfu fashion show, interactive encounters with costumed actors, and a selection of traditional-style games.

In addition, a limited springtime cruise will offer a panoramic view of the riverside in full bloom. The boat will feature a beautifully adorned cherry blossom canopy and delicate floral accents.
