Award-winning water lilies on display in Pudong
The first Premium Water Lily Exhibition at Yuedong Park opened on Aug 15 in Pudong New Area.
The exhibition showcases 360 potted plants across 40 varieties. Several of the water lilies on display have won international awards. Rassamee jan, with its purple petals that gradually lighten from the outer edges toward the center, is often called the "dreamy purple water lily". It won the Best New Tropical Waterlily award at the 2018 International Waterlily & Water Gardening Society competition.
Another highlight is Suwanna, known for its unique bowl-shaped blooms and white petals adorned with blue-purple stripes. It won the Best Tropical award and was named Overall Winner by the IWGS in 2007.
Several photo spots have been set up along the park's pathways. On weekends, visitors can also explore themed interactive booths featuring freshly cut bouquets and soothing water-lily tea.
A series of water lily-themed educational activities will take place throughout the exhibition, including expert lectures and educational sessions for young visitors.
