Dazzling 2026 orchid show opens in Hongkou district
The 2026 Shanghai Orchid Exhibition opens on Oct 23 at Ether Bloom in Ruihong Tiandi's Hall of the Moon in Shanghai's Hongkou district, featuring more than 1,000 orchid plants.
Running through Oct 25, the event is organized by Ether Bloom, a nature-inspired lifestyle brand within Shanghai Xintiandi.
The event aims to bring professional horticulture into urban community life, serving as an offline platform for breeders, startups, and plant brands to showcase and sell their products and exchange ideas.
As one of the largest flowering plant families, orchids boast around 28,000 species globally, with over 1,600 recorded in China.
Prominent specialty nurseries and plant brands will participate in the event. The display covers classic orchid varieties such as Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, Cattleya, Oncidium, Vanda, and Cymbidium faberi, alongside new hybrids.
Visitors can buy plants, exchange care tips with experienced growers, and join hands-on workshops on orchid potting, mounting, and micro-landscaping.
