Call for video submissions: International Chinese Language Day 2024

The "Outfit Transformation Show" and "Taste the World" video submission events are now inviting Chinese culture enthusiasts worldwide to share their vibrant stories in Chinese about local or traditional Chinese attire and culinary culture through video presentations.
Hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation in collaboration with ChinesePlus, these events are in celebration of the upcoming International Chinese Language Day (April 19).
Eligibility requirements
1. Chinese language learners, Chinese culture enthusiasts, and Chinese teachers from around the globe;
2. Non-native Chinese speakers and non-Chinese nationals;
3. Minors with guardian consent.
Video guidelines
1. Participants of the "Outfit Transformation Show: A Fusion of Fashion and Heritage" event can wear their favorite traditional costumes, whether they are from China or their home country. They can model their outfits in front of landmarks while providing descriptions in Chinese. To add an engaging element, participants should start in everyday clothing and then transform into their traditional attire, showcasing shots before and after changing clothing. For the "Taste the World: A Culinary Adventure" event, participants can either prepare their own dishes or savor the flavors at a local specialty restaurant, all while introducing the food in Chinese.
2. Videos can feature one or more participants, with no limits on the form of expression. Participants should be non-native Chinese speakers and non-Chinese nationals.
3. Use a horizontal screen orientation and professional equipment (phone, tripod, stabilizer) for optimal quality.
4. Submit MP4 HD videos (1920×1080 resolution) about three minutes in length, with Chinese and English subtitles (Chinese above English) occupying no more than 1/4 of the screen. When shooting night scenes, choose a well-lit location to ensure that your video comes out clear and vibrant.
5. Introduce yourself in Chinese, stating your name, nationality, location, and length of time studying Chinese, and end with a blessing in Chinese.
6. Ensure no third-party logos are visible.
7. Content must be original, truthful, and thematically relevant.
Submission details
Submit your video online from April 8 to April 30 (Beijing time) to https://shipinzhengji.chineseplus.net. Each person is limited to two original works.
Awards and prizes
Awards
Outstanding Video Production Award (20 recipients per event): Winners will be determined based on a combination of judges' scores and online voting.
Outstanding Instructor Award (20 recipients per event): Presented to the instructors of the winning video productions.
Outstanding Event Participation Award (20 recipients per event): Awarded to organizations or groups with the highest number of participating entries and outstanding works.
Prizes
Outstanding Video Production Award winners will receive a certificate of recognition and unique Chinese cultural merchandise.
Outstanding Instructor Award winners will receive a certificate of recognition and unique Chinese cultural merchandise.
Outstanding Event Participation Award winners will receive a certificate of recognition.
Please note that all participants who submit a video will receive a digital certificate of participation.

Rights and interests
1. The participant must own the copyright of the submitted video work(s).
2. The participant shall be responsible for any legal issues related to reputation, copyright, portrait rights, etc., and declare that the work does not infringe on the copyright of third parties and other related legal rights.
3. The participant agrees to the editing of the work by the sponsor.
4. The sponsor reserves the right to reuse the video work for publication, exhibition, demonstration, and other purposes with no additional payment.
