International Student Chinese Speech Contest opens for registration

The "Gen Z Sings and Tells China - Panda Talks: My Story with China" International Student Chinese Speech Contest is now open for registration! Whether you are a newcomer or have been in China for a while, don’t hesitate to share your story in Chinese!

01 Eligibility

International students from all universities in China

02 Competition process

By July 31: Preliminary round

Aug 10: Announcement of the top 40 and further arrangements

By Aug 30: First stage of coaching - specific dates to be announced

By Sept 15: Semi-finals (online)

Sept 20: Announcement of top 20 finalists and further arrangements

September to October: Second stage of coaching - specific dates to be announced

October to November: Finals (offline) - specific dates to be announced

03 Registration

Participants can register individually or through their institutions.

Submit the registration form and preliminary round entry to pandatalk@tongji.edu.cn by July 31. Email subject: Individual Entry/Institutional Entry + University Name + Participant Name.

04 Preliminary round requirements

1. Entry requirements

Use Chinese; video length 3-5 minutes; resolution at least 1080*720; format MP4; must feature the participant on screen and speaking; a text transcript of the video must be attached with the entry video.

2. Content requirements

Share your study, life, and cultural experiences in China under the theme "My Story with China".

05 Awards

Awards include First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, Merit Award, and Excellent Institution Award.

06 Notes

1. Ensure personal information is accurate. Entries must be original and not infringe on the rights of others. Violations will result in disqualification.

2. The contest organizers hold the copyrights to the video content, photos, and recordings. They may use the works for non-commercial purposes such as media publication, exhibition, and online promotion.

3. The organizers reserve the final interpretation rights of the event.
