Registrations: 2024 My Beautiful Encounter with China contest

Well, here's is your chance!
The 2024 My Beautiful Encounter with China contest for expats in China will be launched soon. Organized by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) and hosted by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), it aims to enrich the experience of international students in China and promote cross-border cultural exchange and understanding.
It's not only a contest, but also a cultural collision with spiritual dialogue.
01 Participants
International students currently studying in China, graduates working in China after completing their studies at Chinese universities, expats with experiences in China and students and scholars from overseas sinology institutes.
02 Theme
Under the theme of "My Beautiful Encounter with China", the contest encourages participants to tell vivid stories about China through fluent writing and lively videos. They're also called on to share their insights on China's economic and social development, rural vitalization, scientific and technological innovation and traditional culture, etc.
03 Requirements
Focusing on the theme of "My Beautiful Encounter with China", participants should record their stories of studying, living and working in China. Share your vivid and authentic stories and express the most touching feelings you have gained in China. The topic is open-ended, allowing for personal interpretation.
The contest includes both essay and short video categories. Participants can choose to submit in either format or both. All entries must be original and have not been published in any newspapers, books, magazines or websites.
Essay
There are no genre restrictions. The essay should be written in Chinese and the length of the essay should be about 1,000 characters.
Short video
Duration: 1-6 minutes
Format: MP4/MOV
Language: Bilingual subtitles are recommended (Chinese + English or your mother tongue).
It's recommended that the video is shot in a 16:9 landscape format with sharp focus and it should not contain corner markers, watermarks, or logos.
04 How to contribute
International students and graduates of universities in China can submit their works through the institutions where they are studying or have graduated from. Individual submissions are also welcome.
a. Entries can be submitted by the institution's or embassy's contact person or by individual participants through the contest registration system.
Visit http://www.studyinchina.edu.cn and click the banner on the home page to jump to the registration system. Please click "Read more" at the bottom of the page and check the guidelines for the operation of the registration system.
b. Entries can be submitted by the contact person of the university or embassy by email at essay@studyinchina.edu.cn.
c. Participants can also take part in the short video platform contest by posting their works on TikTok and WeChat Channels. Institutions and individuals participating in the platform contest should follow the WeChat account "留学中国StudyinChina" (ID: studyinchina) and check the official website (www.studyinchina.edu.cn) for more details. The platform contest is scheduled to start in mid-October.
Deadline: Submit your works before Sept 25, 2024.
Notes
> The entries must be named as follows: Nationality + Chinese name of the participant + University (if any) + Title of the entries.
> The font of the essay should be Song font, small size 4, with 1.5 times line spacing.
> If you register by email, please provide the permanently valid Baidu Netdisk sharing link of the video in the email.
> All participants are required to fill out and submit the Attachment 1: Entry Information Form (see below).
