Invitation to International Young Scientists (Scholars) Forum at ECNU
The 10th (2024) International Young Scientists (Scholars) Forum
1. Overview
The forum will consist of a main forum and sub-forums. The main forum includes an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, and an introduction to the university. Sub-forums will be organized by various departments according to different disciplines and fields. The event will feature a blend of offline seminars and online live streaming. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge about the university and available job opportunities, and engage in discussions with scholars from relevant academic fields.
2. Schedule
The forum is tentatively scheduled for late November to early December 2024. For detailed information, please scan the QR code to follow the talent recruitment platform of ECNU. A detailed schedule will be released at a later date by the university.

4. Reimbursement
The university will arrange accommodation and meals for in-person participants and reimburse international round-trip economy class airfare within the specified conference dates (within 15 days). The maximum reimbursement is 15,000 yuan ($2,109) per person for participants from Europe and America, 6,000 yuan per person for participants from the Asia-Pacific region, and 1,500 yuan per person for domestic economy class or second-class train tickets.
5. Positions available
I. For young high-level talents
(1) Zijiang Outstanding Young Scholar (Young Leading Talent)
Requirements:
- Possess a doctoral degree, generally with formal teaching or research positions at overseas universities, research institutions, or enterprise R&D institutions, along with a minimum of three years of continuous work experience; those with exceptional achievements who obtained their PhD overseas may have the work experience requirement relaxed.
- Capable of teaching core undergraduate courses; have achieved outstanding academic results in scientific research, possess strong team leadership and organizational skills, significant potential for innovation, and the ability to help the discipline reach or maintain international advanced levels.
- Generally under 40 years old, with a relaxed age requirement for humanities and social sciences.
Note: The university encourages young overseas talents to apply for the 2025 National Natural Science Fund and related talent projects through the university. Specific application requirements are available in the 2024 project guide published by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

(2) Zijiang Young Scholar (Top Young Talent)
Requirements:
- Possess a doctoral degree, generally with at least one year of postdoctoral research experience; those with exceptional achievements who obtained their PhD overseas may have the work experience requirement relaxed.
- Have achieved high-level research results recognized by peers, have outstanding development potential, and are expected to become young leading talents in their discipline.
- Generally under 35 years old, with a relaxed age requirement for humanities and social sciences.
II. For outstanding reserve talents
Requirements:
- Possess a doctoral degree.
- Have a solid foundation in scientific research and have achieved some academic results, with strong development potential and innovative thinking.
- Generally under 35 years old.
