The 7th China International Import Expo is running in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10. The enthusiastic "little leaves" — the volunteers at the CIIE — are a highlight of the event each year. Among the 3,488 volunteers in 2024, the presence of international students is quite prominent.

One of them is Lvana Dinic from Serbia, a second-year student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Last year, she provided translation services for the Serbia Pavilion. This year, she is responsible for liaison work in the national exhibition area. Returning to the pavilion, she has not only reunited with old friends but also discovered new products from her homeland.

Thor Teng from Laos, studies at the Shanghai Institute of Technology. Teng expressed his excitement about returning to the expo. He reflected on his initial journey to Shanghai on the newly opened China-Laos Railway, and how it has helped more of his homeland’s specialties reach the global market. He hopes to seize this opportunity to capture special moments and stories from the expo.
