Shanghai universities excel in national intercultural competence contest

The finals of the 7th SFLEP (Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press) Cup National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest was held at Shanghai International Studies University from Nov 29 to Dec 1.

Launched in March, the contest attracted more than 3,000 students from over 1,000 universities.

After several preliminary rounds, 64 Chinese and 20 international student teams reached the finals, making it the largest event in the competition's history. The live online broadcast attracted over 130,000 viewers.

The contest had two categories — the Chinese student group (English) and the international student group (Chinese).

Fudan University won the championship in the Chinese student category, while the Communication University of Zhejiang won the championship in the international student category.

The international student team from Shanghai International Studies University claimed the top prize in the Shanghai regional contest and secured second place in the national finals.
