Global students bridge cultures at Shanghai Conservatory of Music

The Shanghai Conservatory of Music hosted a music concert on Dec 23, bringing together over 300 students and faculty from more than 10 universities, including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, and East China Normal University. The event also welcomed 400 local residents, creating a lively and diverse audience.

Students from nearly 20 countries came together to deliver a diverse array of musical performances, offering a feast for the eyes and ears.

The first half of the event featured classic Western pieces like Ludwig van Beethoven's Trio in C major, Op.87, alongside Chinese works such as "Wedding Dress" and "Swallow", which were imbued with heartfelt emotion.

The event also highlighted original compositions by international students from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

In the second half, students from the Traditional Chinese Music Department, Orchestral Instruments Department, Percussion Department, and Piano Department collaborated to present numerous Chinese musical classics, celebrating the artistic charm of China's traditional culture.

The evening culminated with international and Chinese students performing "River Snow" and Bohemian Rhapsody, marking a perfect end to the musical celebration.
