1. Postdoctoral research platforms

Shanghai Maritime University hosts three postdoctoral research stations:

• Management Science and Engineering: Supported by over 50 PhD supervisors, this station excels in areas like big data and intelligent technology for port and shipping supply chains and automated terminal management technology, maintaining global leadership in port and shipping logistics.
• Transportation Engineering: With 25 PhD supervisors actively engaged in major academic and industry organizations, this station offers extensive research facilities, including nine teaching labs and eight research labs, providing vital technical support to the transportation sector.
• Electrical Engineering: Focused on national strategic needs, this station, with over 20 PhD supervisors, conducts pioneering research in the port and shipping electrical engineering domain, supported by international collaboration labs and national experimental centers.

2. Application requirements

• Must be PhD graduates (within the past three years) or those expecting to graduate within six months, with excellent academic records, good health, and strong ethical standards.
• Must be under 35 years of age.
• Must have a robust academic background, strong research and innovation capabilities, and potential for academic growth, with the ability to conduct independent research.

3. Responsibilities

• Engage primarily in scientific research, completing postdoctoral tasks as planned.
• Collaborate on significant research projects, publishing findings in top-tier journals.

4. Benefits and compensation

• Competitive salary: Starting at 350,000 yuan ($47,985) annually, with "super postdoctoral fellows" earning from 450,000 yuan, funded for three years. Additional project funding at national or municipal levels is encouraged, with cumulative benefits.
• Career advancement: Exceptional postdoctoral researchers receive a 50,000-yuan bonus and potential direct recruitment as tenured associate professors. Those rated "good" receive a 30,000-yuan bonus and may be recruited as Huihang associate professors, enjoying equivalent benefits.
