SUES and Azerbaijan Technical University advance plans for joint talent development

Shanghai University of Engineering Science and Azerbaijan Technical University have expressed strong mutual interest in building long-term cooperation to cultivate international industry talent.

Fariz Mammadov, vice-rector for international relations at Azerbaijan Technical University, led a delegation to SUES for talks on June 23.

Wang Qin, director of the International Office and dean of the School of International Education, introduced the university's history and international development strategy. She highlighted SUES's strengths in integrating industry with education and its commitment to serving regional economic growth. She emphasized that both universities possess complementary strengths in engineering disciplines such as materials science, mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence, with significant potential for collaboration in student exchange and academic cooperation.

Fariz Mammadov commended SUES's academic achievements and distinctive educational model. He underscored his university's commitment to cooperation with Chinese institutions and noted that the Belt and Road Initiative offers opportunities to deepen bilateral educational ties. He affirmed that the two universities align closely in their visions for talent development and scientific research, and expressed hope for long-term collaboration through faculty exchanges, joint research, and shared academic resources.
