China Shanghai Education Expo promotes 'Study in Shanghai' in Bahrain and UAE

The 2025 China Shanghai Education Exhibition, organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, was held in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates this October to promote the "Study in Shanghai" brand.

The event attracted participation from 24 universities, including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Tongji University.

On Oct 16, the 2025 China Shanghai Education Expo and Shanghai-Bahrain Education International Exchange and Cooperation Promotion Conference took place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

Over 140 participants from Shanghai-based universities and more than 80 representatives from Bahrain's Ministry of Education, Higher Education Council, 13 Bahrain-based universities, and four international schools attended the event.

The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission provided an overview of Shanghai's education system, while Bahrain's Ministry of Education highlighted China-Bahrain educational cooperation.

The event also included a dedicated dialogue session where representatives from both sides explored collaboration opportunities in medicine, engineering, energy, and artificial intelligence, with further discussions on promoting student exchanges and academic cooperation in specialized disciplines.

From Oct 19 to 21, the 2025 Najah International Education Expo, the UAE's largest and most influential international education fair, was held at the ADNEC Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi.

The 2025 edition attracted over 150 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Japan, and Malaysia. The Shanghai delegation participated as a featured sub-exhibition, drawing more than 30,000 attendees over the three days.

The Shanghai education delegation also carried out targeted promotion and university exchanges in Bahrain and the UAE. Visits included the University of Bahrain and New York University Abu Dhabi, where they met with the UAE Court Presidential Scholarships Office. Discussions focused on expanding student mobility, establishing inter-university partnerships, and developing collaborative programs.

Shanghai is committed to promoting openness in education, emphasizing academic research, faculty training, and youth exchanges to foster high-quality educational development.
