Application opens for SISU 2026 Summer Chinese Language Program
Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) has launched its 2026 Summer Chinese Language Program, which will start in July. Registration is now open.
I. Course and activities
1) The program offers Chinese language courses, including listening, speaking, and reading.
2) Chinese language classes are taught from Monday to Friday, with four class hours each morning from 8:30 am to 11:50 am. Elective courses are held in the afternoons, including Chinese calligraphy, tai chi, and Chinese martial arts.
3) Activities include regularly scheduled city sightseeing tours across Shanghai.

II. Application and study periods
- Three sessions will be offered for the 2026 summer program.
Application deadline: June 1
Study period: From July 14 to Sept 4
Participants may choose from the following program durations within each session:
Session 1
- Registration date: July 13
- Program options:
Four weeks (July 14 – Aug 7)
Five weeks (July 14 – Aug 14)
Six weeks (July 14 – Aug 21)
Seven weeks (July 14 – Aug 28)
Eight weeks (July 14 – Sept 4)
Session 2
- Registration date: July 27
- Program options:
Four weeks (July 28 – Aug 21)
Five weeks (July 28 – Aug 28)
Six weeks (July 28 – Sept 4)
Session 3
- Registration date: Aug10
- Program options:
Four weeks (Aug 11 – Sept 4)

- Group applications for the program are also accepted. Start dates can be negotiated with the Office of International Student Affairs based on requirements.
III. Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals between the ages of 18 and 60, in good health and with reliable financial resources.
Applicants who will not have reached the age of 18 by July 1, 2026, are required to submit a guardian's letter, which can be downloaded from the website of the Office of International Student Affairs at SISU. The guardian must be an adult residing in the Chinese mainland and able to demonstrate reliable financial resources.
IV. Application procedure
1) Complete the online application form on the admissions website at http://www.oisa.shisu.edu.cn.
2) Pay the application fee online: 500 yuan (about $73), or an overseas wire transfer of $75.
