The 10th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF), organized by the Shanghai Municipal Government, concluded on June 14, breaking multiple records.

The event attracted nearly 50,000 visitors, over 80 percent of whom were professionals, and hosted more than 1,200 activities. It showcased 2,637 innovative achievements and 572 enterprise innovation demands, resulting in a historic high of 556 cooperation agreements.

Held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, this three-day fair spanned 35,000 square meters and featured nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions, including 19 Chinese provinces.

Key areas of focus included energy and low-carbon technologies, digital technologies, and biopharmaceuticals, showcasing cutting-edge innovations such as the world's first AI-assisted respiratory diagnosis system and the first heavy-duty hydrogen-blended gas turbine.

As this year marked the sixth anniversary of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta as a national strategy, the fair also featured a dedicated zone for regional collaborative innovations, highlighting advanced semiconductor packaging equipment, among others. Additionally, over 60 projects aimed at enhancing Shanghai's status as a global financial, trade, shipping, and technological innovation center were presented.

The fair also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the friendship city relationship between Shanghai and Japan's Osaka, with 15 projects reaching cooperation agreements at a technology promotion conference by Osaka-based enterprises. Zhejiang, the event's guest province of honor, showcased 58 companies involved in the AI and low-carbon energy sectors, and signed project contracts with a total investment of 13 billion yuan ($1.79 billion).

Over 40 events were held, including the opening ceremony, three themed days, and numerous industry conferences. Highlights included the United Nations Industrial Development Organization themed day, which promoted several carbon neutrality solutions; and the Belt and Road Intellectual Property Protection Seminar. The fair also introduced a "digital human AI presenter" and various interactive services that enhanced the attendee experience.

The Tech-Transfer Center at CSITF achieved nearly 1.5 billion yuan ($206.72 million) in intended cooperation agreements. The Shanghai Technology Innovation Center organized policy briefings and shared insights from leading incubators. Additionally, Ren Jia, general manager of SIMIC InnoSpring, emphasized the importance of practical support for technology startups, including early-stage funding.

The fair's "Mini Exchange" platform offered one-on-one consultations and services such as patent valuations and technology roadshows. Nearly 1,000 consultations were provided, and reports on the value of examined technologies were issued.

The Tech-Transfer Center also organized a "tech manager exploration" event, attracting over 120 participants from various sectors. This initiative led to numerous cooperation agreements, including a 5-billion-yuan deal involving Beijing Knowledge Atlas Technology's Zhipu AI project, as well as a 2-billion-yuan agreement for a photodegradable plastic project.
