Shanghai announces plan to host 2nd intl light festival

Shanghai is set to host the second Shanghai International Light Festival, illuminating the urban landscape from mid-September to mid-October at the West Bund of Xuhui district, which serves as the festival's primary venue, according to the Shanghai Landscape and City Appearance Administrative Bureau.
Gao Hongjian, the bureau's director, revealed that the festival will also encompass 13 additional sub-venues across the city, solidifying its status as a hallmark event in Shanghai's cultural calendar.
At the West Bund venue, attendees can expect a mesmerizing display of themed light shows projected onto architectural marvels. Residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in interactive light art installations, offering a unique glimpse into traditional Chinese customs, haipai (Shanghai-style) culture, and more.
The festival aims to captivate the public by delivering a light art extravaganza that transcends mere visual delight. Through engaging interactions with commercial districts, tourism hubs, sporting events, and exhibitions, organizers seek to create a dynamic and immersive experience that celebrates the fusion of art, culture, and technology.
