As the only Asian stop on the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) calendar, the Shanghai round could prove decisive in the battle for the 2026 world titles. The event will bring together world champions, top international riders, and Chinese wildcard entrants for three days of world-class racing.

The event is built around the following core sections:

Elite International Competition: Four classes – MXGP, MX2, 250cc, and 85cc – will feature 33 teams and more than 90 professional riders from 22 countries and regions, including eight world champions.  

Race Schedule: The three day event includes practice sessions, qualifying races, and championship races, with the main MX2 and MXGP races taking place on Sept 13.

Venue & Track: The venue features more than 4,500 permanent seats, including VIP seating. With temporary viewing areas added, it can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators per day. 

Day to Night Sports Carnival: Three activity zones around the circuit will offer more than 40 booths showcasing motorcycles, accessories, and official merchandise, along with test rides, food, performances, and family friendly activities such as MiniGP, go karting, racing simulators, VR sports, and robot battles. Activities will extend to neighboring Xinghuo Park, where visitors can enjoy camping, pet friendly activities, water recreation, food markets, treasure hunts, and live performances.
