"Small things can make the difference," said Lothar Sysk, a German environmental volunteer living in Shanghai's Zhangjiang town.
With a professional background in forestry and environmental consulting, Sysk has integrated his expertise into community service, actively participating in local conservation efforts since 2016.
Through the "I FOR" volunteer team, he leads initiatives from inspecting trees to monitoring water quality. Having witnessed Shanghai’s ecological improvements over the past 24 years, Sysk believes that a good environment is essential for sustainable development and a healthy society.
