Guide to star-rated museums in Changning district
During the Art Museum Development Day Shanghai 2024 event on Dec 23, Shanghai released a list of 25 star-rated art museums, including four in Changning district.

Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum
Located in the heart of Changning, this museum is dedicated to contemporary art. Supported by the district government, it serves as a hub for exhibitions, research, and public education. The center hosts international and domestic cultural exchanges, exhibitions, and interactive programs, especially aimed at younger audiences.

Liu Haisu Art Museum
Established in 1995, this museum was the first provincial-level museum in China to be named after an individual. It honors Liu Haisu, a pioneer in modern Chinese art education. The museum displays traditional and contemporary Chinese art while promoting public education through exhibitions and cultural exchanges. The new building, opened in 2016, was designed with inspiration from Liu's artistic style. The museum also hosts academic research, community programs, and educational initiatives.

SPSI Art Museum
