Shanghai unveils new wave of theme park attractions
Shanghai's cultural and tourism landscape is embracing a new wave of excitement, with several highly anticipated attractions set to open across the city. From anime-inspired adventures to Disney classics and traditional Chinese themes reimagined in modern forms, these immersive experiences are expected to captivate visitors of all ages and interests.
One Piece adventure carnival
This summer, Shanghai is welcoming China's first-ever One Piece-themed amusement experience in Pudong New Area. Occupying tens of thousands of square meters, the site offers an immersive playground combining themed attractions, dining, shopping, and live performances.
As the first complex One Piece carnival in Asia, the event will follow storylines from the iconic anime and feature original pirate crew routes while pitting players against navy factions as pirates in interactive AR/VR experiences.

Junior Explorers Camp debuts at Disney's Adventure Isle
On June 16, Shanghai Disney Resort unveiled the new Junior Explorers Camp at its Adventure Isle.
Built on the foundation of Camp Discovery's archaeological excavation site, this outdoor playground allows young visitors to step into the shoes of real-life adventurers.
Designed as a future explorer training camp, the zone comprises three nature-themed areas: the African savanna from The Lion King, the underwater world of Finding Nemo, and the floating landscapes of Up. Children are encouraged to climb, crawl, and explore through rope courses and multi-level slides, sparking both physical activity and adventurous spirit.

Pixar Adventurous Journey & Life through Stories
The interactive Pixar Adventurous Journey & Life Through Stories exhibition will launch on June 27 in Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disney Resort.
As China's first immersive exhibition dedicated to Pixar storytelling, the experience guides visitors through seven beloved animated universes, including Inside Out, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Turning Red, Coco, Up, and Soul.
Through character encounters and themed environments, guests will be able to reflect on themes like courage, imagination, and emotional growth — hallmarks of Pixar's storytelling legacy.

Oriental Fantasy: A cultural town inspired by '24 solar terms'
Set to open in the latter half of 2025, Oriental Fantasy in Lin-gang's Wanxiang town will be China's first cultural tourism town themed around the traditional "24 solar terms".
Drawing architectural inspiration from the night markets of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), this commercial block marks Lin-gang's first integrated tourism destination combining culture, commerce, leisure, and entertainment, covering seasonal decorations such as color-changing lanterns, boat shows along riverbanks, immersive performance centers, trendy Chinese-style hotels, and fashionable zones.
