Shanghai Grand Theatre will host the Bavarian Resonance: SGT Opera Festival 2025 this October, inviting audiences to enjoy an opera art carnival.

The acclaimed Bayerische Staatsoper (Bavarian State Opera) will perform at the theatre from Oct 1 to 6. This week-long event will feature two classic operas and a concert.

Earlier this year, the Shanghai Opera House presented renowned German composer Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, which was met with great enthusiasm. Building on this momentum, the upcoming festival will showcase Wagner's Der fliegende Hollander, or The Flying Dutchman, alongside Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi's Otello (concert version). These works represent the pinnacle of German and Italian opera and highlight the rich Bavarian musical tradition.
