Founded in 1905 as the Fudan Public School and renamed Fudan University in 1917, Fudan University is widely regarded as the first higher education institution in China independently established by the Chinese. As a world-renowned comprehensive research university, it was selected for the "Double First-Class" university in 2017, and ranks 30th in the world and third among universities in the Chinese mainland in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.

Fudan University was one of the earliest institutions in China to establish postdoctoral research stations and now operates 40 such stations along with more than 30 postdoctoral research centers. Since employing its first postdoctoral researcher in China in 1985, Fudan has recruited over 10,000 postdoctoral researchers, with about 2,500 currently working at the university.

Fudan University continues to strengthen its community of postdoctoral fellows. Through initiatives, including the "Super Postdoctoral" program, improved management systems, competitive compensation packages, and enhanced support services, the university ensures postdoctoral fellows can fully engage in high-quality research.

Recruitment details

I. Position availability

Fudan University offers more than 560 full-time postdoctoral positions, half of which are designated as "Super Postdoctoral" positions. These opportunities are open to outstanding candidates worldwide.

Ⅱ. Eligibility requirements

1. Adhere to positive moral values; commit to academic integrity and ethical conduct, and maintain good physical health.

2. Under the age of 35. Exceptions may be made for outstanding qualified candidates.

3. Hold a doctoral degree or be nearing completion, and demonstrate academic excellence, a solid professional foundation, and high potential for future contributions.

4. Meet any additional requirements specified by the targeted postdoctoral research station.

III. Compensation and benefits

1. Competitive annual salary:

- Full-time postdoctoral positions: 180,000 to 200,000 yuan ($26,080 to $28,980)

- "Super Postdoctoral" positions:230,000 to 500,000 yuan
