Shanghai accelerates preparations for WorldSkills Competition

Shanghai is entering the final stretch of preparations for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, scheduled for Sept 22 to 27 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

The event is expected to set records in the number of competition categories, participants, and participating member countries and regions. More than 5,500 registered participants from 73 countries and regions are expected to attend, including nearly 1,500 competitors.

Chinese competitors are set to participate in all 64 competition categories.

According to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the event will use approximately 360,000 square meters of venue space. Layout planning and alignment of technical standards for all 64 competition categories have been completed.

Support measures are in place, covering visa facilitation, arrival and departure services, and accommodation, and volunteer recruitment has begun.

Additionally, Shanghai has arranged a series of WorldSkills-themed tourist routes for participants and visitors.
