China Railway Shanghai Group will launch the Yangtze River Delta's first luxury tourist train, Yangtze River Delta Star, on May 19. Departing from Shanghai, the train embarks on an 18-day journey through northern and southern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, offering all soft-sleeper cabins, private bathrooms, and dedicated butler services.

The route passes through Tianshui in Gansu province and several destinations in Xinjiang, including Yining, Korla, Kashgar, Kuqa, Urumqi, and Hami prefecture.

The train comprises 12 soft-sleeper carriages, one multifunctional carriage, and two dining cars, creating a hotel-like travel experience on rails.

Cabins feature a distinct Shanghai-inspired design and come in double, triple, and four-person layouts.

The flagship double cabin offers a large panoramic window, a 1.8-meter-wide bed with premium memory foam, and adjustable berths that convert into a sofa or bed.

Triple cabins are available in two layouts, either with three single beds or with one double bed and one single bed, catering to families and group travelers.

Four-person cabins provide a more economical option, with bunk beds equipped with safety guardrails and six-centimeter-wide non-slip ladder steps.

All cabins use soundproof materials, low-noise air conditioning, rounded furniture edges, smart controls, and multi-mode lighting.

Each cabin includes a private bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, anti-slip flooring, an anti-fog mirror, and elderly-friendly features such as handrails and a three-in-one warm-air unit for heating, ventilation, and lighting. Emergency call buttons are installed near doors and in shower areas.

The train also features continuous barrier-free access, with widened corridors to accommodate wheelchair users.

Its dining area can accommodate more than 30 passengers and features a service counter, vending machines, a smoking room, and Starbucks coffee. Window-facing bar tables allow passengers to enjoy scenic views while dining.

A private dining room for six to eight guests is equipped with karaoke and is available for small gatherings and business meetings.

The multifunctional entertainment carriage includes a small stage for live performances, a bar area, a cultural and creative display zone, and a reading area.

An onboard medical room staffed with professionals ensures passenger safety throughout the journey.

The train offers a high-end service model combining dedicated butlers, comprehensive tour guides, and local guides. Every two to three cabins are assigned a 24-hour butler offering personalized services and cultural insights.

The service team is staffed by China Railway Shanghai Group and trained to star-rated hotel service standards, with all staff trained in emergency first aid, CPR, and AED skills.

Ticket prices start from 22,999 yuan ($3,378) per person for four-person cabins, with triple cabins priced at 39,999 yuan and double cabins at 56,888 yuan. Tickets are available via the "Railway Tourism" section on the 12306 app.
