Equestrian glamour, lifestyle festival ride into the city this autumn
Shanghai is set to sparkle this autumn as the Shanghai Service Consumption Carnival joins forces with the Shanghai International Horse Culture Week at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center, running from Sept 30 to Oct 8.
This year's horse culture week brings together five top-tier events, showcasing the very best of Chinese equestrian sports. From Sept 30 to Oct 2, more than 300 elite horse-rider pairs from around the world will compete in the high-stakes showjumping challenges of the 2025 China Equestrian Tour. The China City Polo Open, running from Oct 3 to 4, promises fierce competition on sand arenas as four elite teams contend for victory. From Oct 5 to 6, the 2025 China Young Horse Show Jumping, which has been certified by the International Equestrian Federation for the first time, highlights rising equestrian talent. On Oct 6, the Maybach International Charity Dressage Show will feature eight Olympic gold medalists, including "Dressage Queen" Isabell Werth, making her dazzling debut in China. The Shanghai youth elite tournament, running from Oct 7 to 8, will spotlight emerging local riders ready to make their mark.
The excitement doesn't stop at the competition. Visitors can enjoy a Mid-Autumn cross-cultural night, charity ticket giveaways, and live music, with a special performance by two-time Grammy winner and jazz sensation Nicole Zuraitis, adding a touch of international flair.
Tickets are designed to be affordable, with a single grandstand ticket, originally priced at 200 yuan (around $28), available for just 80 yuan with a 120-yuan discount voucher. Buying three tickets brings the cost down to 50 yuan each and includes a bonus ticket to the Maybach International Charity Dressage Show, which is valid until Oct 4 at 3 pm.
Adding to the buzz, the week features exclusive consumption vouchers, city landmark check-in activities, and a themed Shanghai Service Consumption Carnival, where lifestyle sports markets, pop-up stores, and limited-edition products offer a festive shopping experience while highlighting Shanghai's urban charm and innovative spirit.
