Shanghai has launched the Ticket Stub Code pilot program, running through Nov 15. The initiative bridges entertainment and lifestyle by linking tickets for concerts, cultural performances, and sports events with discounts across the city.

What is the Ticket Stub Code program?

The pilot follows a "one code, two lists" model:

One code:

The Ticket Stub Code, an electronic voucher that also functions as a payment code.

Two lists:

• Ticket list: A selection of popular concerts, cultural performances, and major sports events. This now includes concerts by WayV, Bai Jugang, Jam Hsiao, and The Black Eyed Peas, as well as the 2025 FISE, the world-renowned extreme sports tour from France.
• Merchant list: Partner restaurants, hotels, attractions, and shopping areas such as Super Brand Mall and Taikoo Li Qiantan in Pudong New Area, and Feizhou International in Xuhui district. More partners will be added as the pilot expands.

By purchasing tickets for any events on the ticket list, you can claim a Ticket Stub Code in Alipay and use it to enjoy a 5 to 25 percent discount at participating stores on the merchant list.

How to participate

Step 1: Buy your ticket

Purchase a ticket for any listed event through Piaoxingqiu, the current pilot ticketing platform, and complete payment using Alipay.

Step 2: Get your code

After payment, you'll receive a message in the Alipay app to claim your Ticket Stub Code.

You can also search "Ticket Stub Code" (Chinese: 上海票根码) in Alipay to find it.

The code is valid for 7 days, covering the event day plus 3 days before and after.

Step 3: Check eligible merchants

View the latest ticket and merchant lists through the official WeChat account of the Shanghai Electronic Commerce Promotion Center at "shxfzdy" or on the Ticket Stub Code page in Alipay.

Step 4: Enjoy exclusive discounts

When paying at a participating merchant, open your Ticket Stub Code in Alipay and let the cashier scan it. The system will automatically apply the discount during payment. One quick scan completes both payment and discount.
