In a bid to revitalize the nighttime economy and enhance the consumer landscape, Shanghai's Putuo district has introduced a vibrant new consumer event known as the "88 Tribe" at Suzhou Creek.

The event, running until July 20, is set to take place every Friday to Sunday, from 5:30 to 10 pm. Adjustments will be made according to weather conditions.

This innovative marketplace includes cultural and creative handicraft stalls, unique food booths, and a music stage on a lawn, creating an attractive nighttime leisure space along Suzhou Creek.

The "88 Tribe" night market is a crucial part of Putuo's efforts to promote the deep integration of culture, tourism, commerce, and sports, serving as both an exploration of new consumption forms and a vivid representation of Suzhou Creek's transformation from a historical waterway to a cultural waterfront.

As part of the 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, which aims to attract global travelers with exciting shopping experiences, the "88 Tribe" night market aims to cultivate a dynamic consumption scene, allowing people to experience the unique charm of Putuo district's cultural and tourism offerings in summer.

Local resident Ms Zhang commented, "The atmosphere here is fantastic, with a variety of delicious food, music, and creative stalls. It's the perfect place to relax with friends in the evening."

The organizers said that they are committed to creating more exciting activities to provide residents with rich recreational and consumption experiences.
