Shanghai has opened 36 new pocket parks in the first half of this year as the city strives to build a green city. The city's goal is to build or renovate 60 pocket parks this year.  

The following are some new pocket parks.

Tangjiao Garden, Xujiahui district

Located at the intersection of Pubei Road and Guilin Road, Tangjiao Garden covers an area of 3,329 square meters. 

The garden is divided into four functional areas: the plaza near the southern entrance, a lawn, a children's activity area, and woods. The different areas are interconnected by paths lined with flowering Chinese crabapple trees.

Senlin Garden, Huangpu district

Senlin Garden is located at the intersection of North Huangpi Road and Weihai Road. The garden features a landscape filled with spore plants as well as popular science knowledge signboards.

Jialing Garden, Yangpu district

Jialing Garden is located at the intersection of Zhoujiazui Road and Shaling Road. The garden features North American crabapples, with the understory graced with plants like Acorus gramineus 'Ogon', Nandina domestica 'Firepower', Ligustrum quihoui, and Hydrangea macrophylla. In this green recreational space, residents can stroll around and relax.

Xinyang Zhuguang Garden, Putuo district

Xinyang Zhuguang Garden is located at the northwest corner of Hongliu Road and Zhen'nan Road in Taopu town. It serves as a green space for the Xinyang Industrial Zone and also as the backyard garden for the Taopu residential area.

Haitang Park, Fengxian district

Haitang Park is located in the area west of Beigang in Nanqiao town. This space creates a dynamic and vibrant landscape by connecting various functional areas - a dance square, a children's play area, fitness facilities, and a shaded walking path.

Runyuan Park, Jiading district

Located at the northwest corner of Shugou Road and Middle Chengliu Road, Runyuan Park has diverse sports facilities and a leisure pathway, allowing people of different age groups to enjoy the pleasure of fitness.

Huamuyiyuan Park, Pudong New Area

Located at the northwest corner of Dingxiang Road and Taolin Road, Huamuyiyuan Park covers an area of 3,060 sq m. 

Under the camphor trees in the park, newly added white spherical structures not only provide support for hydrangea flowers but also allow visitors to have a seat and enjoy the scenery.
