Things you need to know before bringing pets to China

  • Only dogs and cats are allowed into China.
  • One pet is allowed per carrier per entry.
  • Pets should be implanted with electronic chips.

Note: Pets must undergo an animal health clinical inspection conducted by the official agencies of the departing country or region within 14 days prior to their arrival in China. This inspection is crucial to ensure that the pets are free from rabies or any other infectious or parasitic animal diseases.

When your pets need quarantine

  • Pets without chips.
  • Pets without rabies antibody test reports issued by a laboratory trusted by China Customs from non-designated countries or regions.
  • Pets found with symptoms of zoonotic diseases and parasitic diseases during on-site clinical examinations.

If your pets need to be isolated for quarantine, they should enter China at the ports where quarantine facilities are built, and they need to be quarantined for 30 days at the quarantine site designated by Customs.
