Paying utility bills
There are two ways to pay utility bills. You can pay in person at post offices, convenience stores, banks, or utility company service centers, or through payment platforms such as WeChat Pay or Alipay
1. Online payments
(1) Alipay payment
Step 1: Find the Utilities icon on the Alipay home page. If it is not displayed, tap More.

Step 2: Find the Utilities icon in Convenience Services
Step 3: Open the payment page and choose payment types. Follow on page prompts to complete the process.
(2) WeChat Payment
Step 1: Open your WeChat account, tap Me -- Services -- Utilities;
Step 2: Choose the location and payment type;
Step 3: Select the utility provider and enter the account number. You can find it on your utility bill or SMS notification, or by contacting the utility provider's customer service.
Step 4: Pay the bill.
2. Offline payments
If you prefer to pay offline, you can ask your property management office for assistance or visit a utility company service outlet, post office, convenience store, or bank.
Shanghai has installed utility payment terminals at all 220 water, electricity, and gas service outlets across the city. Residents can visit any one of the utility outlets to make one-stop payments for all three utility services.
