Daning Park
Daning Park, located at No 288 West Guangzhong Road in Shanghai Jing'an district, is the largest park in central Puxi, spanning 680,000 square meters.
Designed as an ecological landscape, it combines rolling hills and tranquil water features with a wide variety of trees, shrubs, lawns, and ground cover plants. Wetlands within the park further enrich the ecosystem, supporting diverse plant communities and natural landscapes.
Renowned for its meticulous landscaping, the park offers distinct scenery that changes with the seasons. Its design blends Chinese and Western influences, weaving together traditional and contemporary elements that showcase the distinctive character of Shanghai-style gardens.
Beyond its landscapes, Daning Park serves as a lively cultural and recreational hub. It has hosted numerous tulip exhibitions, summer lotus festivals, and other popular events, while also providing the setting for major gatherings such as the Jing'an Half Marathon.
If you go
Daning Park is open to the public free of charge, with hours varying by season:
- Nov 1 to April 30: 6 am – 9 pm
- May 1 to Oct 31: 5 am – 10 pm
Visitors can easily reach the park via Metro Line 1 at Shanghai Circus World Station Exit 3, or by taking buses 767, 912, and 210.
The park has several entrances for convenient access:
- North gate: No 288 West Guangzhong Road
- West gate: No 756 West Guangzhong Road
- South gate: No 1068 Yichuan Road
- Daning Xiaocheng entrance: No 666 West Guangzhong Road
- Xinnan gate: No 300 Yuncheng Road
- East gate: No 2440 Gonghexin Road
