Pujiang Zhishou Scenic Area
Recognized as a national 3A scenic area in 2020, the Shanghai Pujiang Zhishou Scenic Area marks the starting point of the Huangpu River.
The core area forms a river delta where the Xietang, Yuanxiejing, and Hengliaojing rivers converge after winding through Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
The landscape embodies the classic charm of Jiangnan water towns, featuring reed wetlands and corridors of weeping willow trees.
Above ground, visitors can explore a 32-meter-tall pagoda in Song-Dynasty (960-1279) style, which serves as both a viewing platform and a tribute to flood control. Nearby, the Chunshen Hall, built in the grand tradition of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), honors Huang Xie, Lord of Chunshen during the Warring States Period (475-221 BC), for his contributions to water management.
Below ground, a water culture exhibition hall delves into the region's hydraulic heritage, offering an immersive exploration of local water history.
