Many of the area's original shikumen buildings remain, including Ruikangli and Ruiqingli, both designated Shanghai Historical and Cultural Blocks. These sites are important landmarks of the city's urban development.

The district has attracted a wide range of cultural and creative enterprises, including 1933 Old Millfun, Peninsula Bay, The Old Commercial House 1913, and SNH48 Theater, fostering a dynamic artistic and cultural atmosphere.
