Lotus flower exhibition kicks off at Shanghai's TOP Central Park

With lotus flowers now in full bloom, a lotus flower exhibition commenced on June 30 at TOP Central Park in Putuo district, Shanghai. The event, blending classical aesthetics with modern design, promises both visual and cultural experiences for visitors.

Unlike traditional aquatic plant displays, the lotus flowers at TOP Central Park are predominantly showcased in potted forms. Over 2,000 pots of various lotus flower species are on display, with more than 40 different varieties.

"By presenting them in potted forms, we not only can showcase the best blooming lotus flowers at their peak, but also allow people to admire them up close," said Xu Lei, the technical director of Putuo District Garden Construction and Development Co.

"During the exhibition, we have deliberately integrated traditional Chinese cultural elements such as calligraphy brushes, inkstones, and brush holders, blending elegance into modern life, transforming TOP Central Park into a unique spot for enjoying lotus flowers." Xu said.

The exhibition will run until July 15, with the prime viewing day expected to fall around July 6.
