From January to February 2026, the general public budget revenue of Shanghai totaled 208.69 billion yuan ($30.31 billion), a year-on-year increase of 3.5 percent.

II. General public budget expenditure

From January to February 2026, the general public budget expenditure of Shanghai totaled 168.76 billion yuan, rising by 12.1 percent year-on-year. Priority was given to key areas such as development of urban and rural communities, science and technology, hygiene and health.
