I. General public budget revenue

In the first eight months of 2026, Shanghai's general public budget revenue reached 647.79 billion yuan ($96.65 billion), an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year.

II. General public budget expenditure

During the same period, Shanghai's general public budget expenditure totaled 645.2 billion yuan, accounting for 62.1 percent of the adjusted annual budget. Priority was given to spending in areas including urban and rural community development, housing security, and industrial development, with budget implementation progressing well.
