Shanghai Summer School program at Shanghai Polytechnic University
1. Program overview
This summer, the Shanghai Summer School program at Shanghai Polytechnic University will take you on a fascinating journey through Chinese cuisine, art, and language.
What you'll experience
(1) Hands-on cooking: Learn to prepare authentic Huaiyang cuisine (originating from regions around Huaihe River and Yangtze River) with step-by-step guidance from professional Chinese chefs.
(2) Ceramic art workshop: Craft your own purple sand teapot under the instruction of master artisans.
(3) Cultural immersion: Explore the beauty of traditional Chinese culture through interactive courses.
(4) City exploration: Discover Shanghai's iconic landmarks, restaurants, and the vibrant tourism and hospitality industry.

What you'll do
(1) Learn to cook a signature Huaiyang dish on your own.
(2) Learn to craft a teapot from scratch.
(3) Share your learning experience in a brief course reflection (to be submitted via email before June 29, 2025).
(4) Earn a program certificate, jointly issued by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, Shanghai Polytechnic University, Shanghai Restaurants Cuisine Association, and Zhonghua Vocational School.
