Fudan University has opened registration for its 2026 International Summer Session, scheduled from July 13 to Aug 7.

The four-week session offers a wide range of courses, a diverse international cohort, rich cultural activities, Fudan's academic legacy, and the vibrant urban experience of Shanghai.

Program overview

The Fudan International Summer Session (FISS) is a university-level international summer program designed to promote cross-cultural understanding, cultivate a global perspective, and foster lasting friendships through immersion in Chinese culture.

Since its launch in 2012, it has attracted over 7,000 university students from around the world, including the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Cornell University, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, and National University of Singapore. The program is also open to Fudan University undergraduate students.

All courses are taught in English. In addition to more than 40 credit-transferable courses across eight modules, Medicine, Business and Economics, Law, Society and Politics, History and Culture, Science and Technology, Chinese Language, and Sports, the program also includes company visits and diverse social activities.

Eligibility

• Current university students aged 18 or above
• Strong English proficiency
• Good physical and mental health, with the ability to balance academic and daily life at Fudan

Fees

1. Tuition-waived exchange student

Students should first consult their home universities to confirm whether a tuition-waived exchange agreement with Fudan is in place. Nominated students are exempt from both tuition and application fees.

2. Self-paying students:

Application fee: 400 yuan (about $57), non-refundable.

Tuition fee:

- Full price: 22,000 yuan

- Discounted price: 19,800 yuan for students nominated by Fudan partner universities.

Note: Fees do not include accommodation, meals, transportation, or insurance.

How to apply

1. For students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan:

Log in to http://register.fudan.edu.cn/. After registering, click the "globe" icon in the top right corner to switch the English interface. Select "2026 Fudan International Summer Session (for self-paying students)" to complete your application.

2. For international students:

Log in to https://istudent.fudan.edu.cn/apply/#/user/login. After registering, search for Admission Code: 853942.
