Discover cultural treasures of Baoshan at new store!
If you're seeking a unique cultural experience in Shanghai, look no further than the newly opened "Baoshan Youli" Dinghaishenzhen store in Baoshan district. This innovative cultural and creative store combines the essence of intangible cultural heritage with modern creativity, offering a vibrant space where culture, art, and shopping seamlessly blend.
Earlier this year, the Baoshan district administration of culture and tourism launched the "Baoshan Youli" design competition, which invited designers and enthusiasts to create tourism products that capture the essence of Baoshan. This newly opened store is the brand's first physical location.
Highlights
The store showcases an array of products from 18 suppliers and intangible cultural heritage studios, featuring nearly 200 items across six diverse categories. Each piece reflects the cultural allure of Baoshan. Among the standout items is the dough sculpture of Wusongkou lighthouse, celebrated for its intricate design and excellent value.
Visitors will also find products from the Shanghai Ceramics & Art Museum and the Wood Culture Museum, including Gucun cherry blossom-themed ceramic cups, elegant ceramic ornaments, and stylish canvas bags adorned with local landmarks.
Adding to the store's unique appeal, each shelf is thoughtfully equipped with information about intangible cultural heritage practices, giving tourists a better understanding of the time-honored traditions.
Moreover, the store has partnered with Shanghai Film Infinity and the Public Art Coordination Center to introduce a series of products inspired by the Monkey King, the famous character from the Chinese classic comic novel Journey to the West. This collection features figurines, fridge magnets, pendants, and more.
